In 1987, under the nomination of President Reagan, Greenspan was appointed the chairman of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve. This was followed by successive nominations by presidents Bush, Clinton and Bush again. After the Federal Reserve, Greenspan formed an economic consulting firm called Greenspan Associates LLC. He is a senior consultant at Pacific Investment Management Company (PIMCO) and a senior advisor to Deutsche Bank, along with an honorary membership at the HIM Treasury, UK.  Greenspan published a memoir called The Age of Turbulence: Adventures in a New World in 2007.
